Maxine-Fishburn-1429106371Maxine Marie Fishburn, 80, of Salina, passed away Sunday, April 12th, at Salina Regional Health Center.

Maxine was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on April 18, 1934, to the late Ella Paulina Marie (Berreth) and Franklin Leonard Gray.

Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salina. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Anaheim, California, and the Moose Lodge in California. Locally, she belonged to the Salina Kennel Club.

She was the widow of Kenneth L. Fishburn, they were married in 1960 at Maywood, California.

Survivors include her daughter, Georgiana “Marie” (Gary) Jewell, of Salina, Kansas; son,Leonard, (Amber) Fishburn, of Salina, Kansas; step daughters, Anita M.(Glenn) Fishburn-Martin, of Red Bluff, California; and Paula R. Arroyo, of Napa, California; step son, Michael E. Fishburn, of San Francisco, California; as well as grandchildren, Shawn (Jolene) Wynne, Derek Wynne, Nadine Wynne and her fiance Alex Moreno, and Taylor, Kenneth, and Abigail Fishburn; great grandchildren, Rose and Brooke Wynne, and Joseph Moreno; along with 13 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Marie Stafford.

Memorial Services will be held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 with Pastor David Watson, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Maxine’s name to the animal charity of the donor’s choice, or to the Friends of the Salina Animal Shelter, 329 N. 2nd, Salina, Kansas 67401.

mca50414Lila Janet McAdams, 88, of Salina, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born August 25, 1926 in Bottineau, North Dakota, daughter of George and Emilia (Granitz) Tennancour Meyer. Lila graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Willow City, North Dakota in 1944, and has been a Salina resident since 1945, marrying Howard “Ben” McAdams in 1947.

Lila worked at The Casa Bonita, Betty’s Fried Chicken, and The Cavalier Club. Her fondest and most loved job was caring for her grandchildren, Evan, Kyler, Malynn and Chloe. She enjoyed baking and her chocolate chip cookies were loved by all who received them!

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Violet Nermyr, Roland Tennancour, and Eileen Korbal. Her husband Ben passed away in 1980 and son, Rick in 2014.

Lila is survived by daughter, Janis (Joe) Plumer, Salina; grandson, Brad (Daphne) Plumer, and great grandchildren, Malynn, Chloe and Claire, of Stockton, KS; granddaughters, Ashley and Erin Plumer, Lindsborg, KS; daughter, Sherie (Mark) Bell, Salina; grandsons, Evan Hall, Boulder, CO and Kyler Bell, Manhattan, KS; grandson, Ryan McAdams Pivonka (Andrea) of Columbus, IN.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, with visitation one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church or VFW Post 1432.
