Several area high schools have begun regional baseball play.

In Class 5A Regional semi-finals, Salina Central (8-11) will face Wichita Heights (14-6) at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in Newton.  Salina South (14-6) will face Great Bend (9-9) at Maize South High School in Wichita also at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Regional championship games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

In Hillsboro, Southeast of Saline (15-5) will take on Whitewater-Remington (13-4) in a Class 3A semi-final at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.  The winner of this game will face Sedgwick for the regional championship at 4:00 p.m.

In Class 2-1A, two Saline County schools will see action on Wednesday.  Sacred Heart (6-13) will face Eskridge-Mission Valley (18-2) at 2:00 p.m., while Ell-Saline (11-7) takes on Bennington (7-12) at 4:00 p.m.  Both games will take place at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina.  The winners of those two match-ups will face each other for the regional championship at 6:00 p.m.

Regional champions from each bracket advance to the state championship bracket in their respective Class.
