Obituary – May 25, 2015

sch50522Katherine M. Schneeman, 93, of Salina, died Friday, May 22, 2015. She was born March 15, 1922, in Tescott to Thorwald M. and Lillie Caroline (Minneman) Jensen. On July 14, 1940, she married Albert M. Schneeman in Ellsworth. For over 20 years, she worked for Skelgas propane company.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served in the Women’s Auxiliary. For many years, she was a volunteer for the Saline County Extension Office and helped judge 4-H projects at the county fair and taught sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1999; brothers, Clinton Jensen and Harold Jensen; and sisters, Esther Sneath and Ella Mae Laas.

Katherine is survived by a son, Ronald Schneeman, and daughter, Joyce Bunting, both of Salina; four brothers, Earl Jensen, of Salina, Melvin Jensen, of Bavaria, Daryl Jensen, of Olympia, Wash., and Donald Jensen, of Brookville; sister, Anita Lindsay, of Peck; four grandchildren; t10 great-grandchilden; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. Seventh, Salina, with the Rev. Amy Truhe officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.

The family suggests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Gentiva Hospice, in care of the mortuary.
