ken50607Pamela Ruth Fears Kency, 63, of Salina, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was born in Hastings, Neb. to Bertrand and Mary (Cannon) Fears. Pam worked many years at both Tony’s Pizza and Dillons Grocery Store.

Pam was a loving mother and grandmother and will missed by her two daughters, April Fears and Angel Fears; four grandchildren, Chelsey Fears, Trenton Fears, Christopher Collins and Kristina Collins; two sisters, Mary Irving and Kathy Fears; and two brothers, Joseph Fears and Michael Fears.

Funeral services will be private with inurnment at a later date. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Edith M. Kohls, 83, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Ellsworth County, the daughter of Rudolph and Hulda (Haase) Nienke.

She married Dennis E. Kohls on Nov. 28, 1954, in Ellsworth. Edith was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and an avid golfer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, in 2000, and four siblings, Betty Pflughoeft, Leonard L. Nienke, Doris Peterman and Berneita Snyder.

Survivors include two children, James F. Kohls and wife Janet, of Hampton, Iowa, and Kristie Kohls Blaha and husband Robert, of St. Louis; three sisters, Hulda Bricker, of Ellsworth, Velma Perez and husband Dale, of Gypsum, and Lois Holtz, of Salina; and two grandchildren, Adam Kohls and wife Julia, of McHenry, Ill., and Samantha Kohls, of Hampton, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 111 W. Magnolia, the Rev. Calvin Reinke officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or the Salina Public Library.

4581175_220wBeverly Jean Fetter, 91, of Salina. Beverly passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, she was born April 4, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana.
Survivors include her children, Janice Lewis, Marvin Fetter, Jr., and Linda Sue (Terry) Robbins. Sister, Patricia McDonald. Grandchildren, Ken Lewis, Tod Lewis, Marva Morgan, Marcia Blosser, Shawn Loder, and Jennifer Cornell. 12 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. Beverlyretired from Tony’s after 16 years, volunteered with RSVP for 25 years and with 14 years as a Hospice Volunteer. Very active in the church was a “we care caller”. Services 10am, Friday, June 12 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 302 S. 7th St. Visitation will be from 2 to 7, Thursday, June 11 with family to receive guests from 5 to 7 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford. Memorials made be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church and/orHospice of Salina in care of Roselawn Mortuary, PO Box 2322, Salina, 67402. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery
