KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 13, 2015) – The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has placed left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas on the 15-day disabled list with a left flexor strain, which is retroactive to June 9.  He will be eligible for reinstatement on June 24.

To take Vargas’ spot on the 25-man roster, the Royals have recalled left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan from Triple-A Omaha.  Finnegan, 22, has made five appearances with the Royals this season, going 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA (2 ER in 9.2 IP).
