Salina Police took a man into custody early Thursday morning after he was found to be in possession of a stolen rental vehicle.

29-year-old Larry Pierre Valentine Martin of Salina, was arrested at 2:22 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Crawford, after an officer ran a check of the vehicle’s license tag, only to discover that it had been reported stolen by it’s owner, Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Indianapolis, Indiana.

The vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Sentra, had been rented by a third party on June 8th. According to Salina Police, the third party then turned the vehicle over to Martin, who failed to return it to the rental car company by a due date of June 10th.

Martin was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Driving While Suspended.
