Danny L. Shamburg, 78, of Salina, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015. He was born Feb 9, 1937, in Beloit, the son of Pete and Phyllis (Thompson) Shamburg.
Danny farmed near Randall for more than 20 years. Later, he worked as a truck driver, transporting fertilizer, livestock, freight and fuel. Danny retired from Bosselman’s Travel Center of Salina after 17 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing, and served as president of the Lions Club of Randall.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; brother, Larry; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons, Danny (Dee), Kevin (Joleta) and Kirby (Colleen); stepsons, Daryl (Lisa) Fouard and Robert (Janet) Fouard; sister, Gloria (Noel) Shamburg-Hanson; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 7-8, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 611 Willis Ave., Salina.
Memorials are to Sunflower Adult Day Care Center, Salina.

Elma Lucille Postlethwaite, 96, of Salina, passed away Thursday, July 9th, at her residence. Elma was born in Minneapolis, Kansas on June 14, 1919, to the late Bertha (Ayres) and Floyd Montague. She worked as a homemaker and a day care provider, She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Salina. Elma married Neal Postlethwaite on July 25, 1938. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Rucker, of Salina; daughter-in-law, Roberta Postlethwaite of Salina; two brothers, Frank Montague of Wichita and Larry montague of Knobnoster; two sisters, Ester Harner, and Albertha Adam both of Salina; granddaughters, Robin, Lynda, Amy, Tambra, Dawn, Jayme, and Cheri; ten great-grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neal; sons, Robert, Floyd, and Ivan; brothers, Elmer, Victor, Virgil, and Billy Montague; sisters, Josephine Werenke and Verla Smith; daughters in law; Beverly and RoxAnne Postlethwaite; and grandson, Scott Rucker.
Funeral Services will be held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13th, with Pastor David Morris officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis.
