Obituaries 14 July, 2014

Theresa Marie Frank, 59, formerly of Aurora, CO, now of Salina, KS, died peacefully Sunday July 12, 2015 at her home. Theresa was born April 19, 1956 at St John’s Hospital, Salina, KS, the oldest daughter of Charles Raymond Frank and Norma Marie (Hickert) Frank, Salina, KS. Cause of death was complications from rheumatoid arthritis, a disease she was diagnosed with at five years of age.

Theresa was a certified fashion designer, an accomplished seamstress, graphic artist, writer, and desktop publisher and loved music, politics, spending time with those close to her, and her dogs. She was an avid reader and word games player, computer expert and trivia master.

Theresa will be remembered for her beautiful smile, fierce independence, artist’s eye, devotion to family and friends, and love of Christmas. Teaching new techniques to her therapists and a demonstrated mastery of independent living while disabled were further attributes. She had a creative mind, a formidable and loving spirit, and a profound effect on the many who met her; most who met her grew to love her. Theresa was a woman of deep faith, and used prayer and the power of Jesus, along with Western medicine, to help manage her pain.

Theresa graduated from Salina South High School, attended Marymount College and Kansas State University and tutored children in reading at The Little House and adults on computer skills at the Senior Center in Salina. During the early 1980’s, she was on staff at Manna House of Prayer, Concordia, KS.

Survivors include her parents, Charles and Norma, of Salina: and siblings: Richard Frank of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Gretchen Browning (Gene) of Huntsville, TX, Jerry (Greta Sanneman) Frank of Salina, KS and Angela York Crane (Len) of Philadelphia, PA: her nephews, Russell York, Charles York, of Philadelphia, PA, Joshua York, of Circleville, OH and niece Brandy Frank, of Ripley, New York, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a Memorial Service at Emmanuel Foursquare Church, 1325 E Cloud, on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Gypsum Hill Cemetery; cremation was chosen so there will be no visitation.

Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear.”
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
