Jerry Wayne Griggs, 59, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 19th, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
Jerry was born in West Ridge, Arkansas on September 26, 1955, to the late Eutha (Wyiott) and Ernest Griggs.
Jerry served in the United States Army and worked as a transmission mechanic.
He was the widower of Patricia Griggs.
Jerry is survived by his step sons Toby, husband of Heavenly McQuillan, of Weskan, Kansas, and Billy, husband of Jeni McQuillan, of Gypsum, Kansas; as well as 10 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25th, with Pastor Dave Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Gracin Dean Eidet, infant son of T.J. Eidet and Rachel Pennick, of Tescott, died Thursday, July 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Brandon Moses, and great-grandfather, Don Mihm.
Gracin is survived by his parents, T.J. and Rachel, of Tescott; paternal grandparents, Mary Adams, of Wichita, and Terry Eidet Sr., of Beverly; maternal grandparents Robyn Cisneros (Greg Long), of Culver, and Jason Pinnick (Lisa), of Oklahoma; four aunts, Misty Mihm and Kristy Eidet, both of Wichita, Kera Pinnick, of Nebraska, and Abby Pinnick, of Oklahoma; great-grandparents, Velm Mihm, Al and Ann Eidet, Linda Wickersham and Evelyn and Wade Pinnick; and one great-great-grandmother, Pearl Hoover (Jim).
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Robert L. “Bob” Lutz, 76, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at his home in Gypsum, battling cancer since July 2009. He was born Jan. 26, 1939, in Dodge City, and grew up in Wright, east of Dodge.
He attended St. Andrew’s Grade School, and then two years at Shawnee, Okla., at St. Gregory’s Seminary. He graduated in 1957 from St. Mary of the Plains High School in Dodge City. He attended Dodge City Junior College and St. Mary of the Plains College before joining the National Guard in 1958, spending two years at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Bob met Judy Mathiasmeier in Dodge City while attending SMPC and they married Dec. 27, 1961.
In 1965, Bob went to work for John Deere in Dodge City and moved on to be manager for the new John Deere Service Center, near Minneapolis in 1972. Bob, Judy, and five children moved there in August and he remained manager until the company sold in 1983.
Bob went to work for Knights of Columbus as an insurance agent, beginning in December 1983 and continued for eight years. In 1999, they moved to Gypsum. Bob always loved putting out a big garden and had a shop to do his crafts, antiquing and wood finishing business.
Bob was a charter member of Knights of Columbus, Minneapolis Council, and served as Deputy Grand Knight and financial secretary for 4th Degree Knights. Bob was a very social person and loved helping farmers cut wheat, and spending time with and teasing his grandkids. He traveled to Hawaii, Mexico, Germany, Italy and across the U.S. many times. He belonged to an early “West Kings Car Club” in Dodge City in the 1960s and a pitch card club in Minneapolis. Bob was an avid KU fan. He also collected anything antique; and bought and sold items at flea markets.
Bob lost his father when he was only 6 years old, but his mother lived to be 99, just passing away in 2013. His older sister, Mauricia, died in 2011.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Gene, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joe, of Gypsum; daughters, Mary (James) Coy, of Lindsborg, and Heidi (Robb) Reynard, of Portsmouth, Va.; and son, Christian, of Hays, and wife Martha, of Woodland Park, Colo.; sisters, Karen (Dennis) Yows, of Upper Lake, Calif., and Rosalie (Larry) Wilkerson, of Dodge City; brother, Tom, of Dodge City; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina. A dinner will follow the service. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Gypsum. Friends may call from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, with family receiving friends at 6 p.m. and vigil services at 7 p.m., all at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.
