Food Establishment Inspections conducted in Dickinson County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from July 17 through July 23, 2015.
E’s Cafe & Bar LLC, 139 W. Main St. – Solomon (July 20)
– Salad tongs have fallen into salad. Corrected on site: washed hands, gloved and removed tongs from the salad.
Ike’s Place, 100 NW 14th St. – Abilene (July 23)
– Cook broke raw eggs, put raw hamburger patty on grill, then put gloves on and handled ready to eat bun without washing hands. Corrected on site: educated, bun discarded, hands washed.
– Chili and broccoli cheese soup at steam table not held at hot enough temperature. Corrected on site: reheated on stove to appropriate temperature.
– Cali rolls (cream cheese and ready-to-eat chicked in tortilla dated July 15. Black beans and corn in Saturn reach-in cooler dated July 15. Preparation dates per cook. Corrected on site: discarded.
– Spray bottle of purple solution on pass thru window labeled sanitizer. When questioned cook indicated it was Fabuloso (multi-purpose cleaner). Corrected on site: re-labeled.
– Spray bottle of purple solution labeled sanitizer on window between kitchen and wait station and above clean plates. Corrected on site: moved.
– Seals on Saturn reach-in cooler doors are torn and loose.
– Hand sink located in kitchen does not have hot water available, and is turned off due to a stripped handle. Handsink near ware-washing machine can be used.
– Women’s rest room door not self closing. Self closer is missing.
– Metal walk-in cooler floor is damaged and coming up.
Joe Snuffy’s Old Fashioned Grill, 209 W 1st St. – Abilene (July 23)
– Two pans (out of 100) stored as clean under grill, one has food particles in it and one has stickers on it. Corrected on site: moved to 3 compartment sink to be cleaned.
McDonalds, 2103 N. Buckeye Ave. – Abilene (July 20)
– Employee handled ice cream cones with bare hands touching end wrapped in paper and end that was not wrapped. Corrected on site: disposed of top cone, washed, gloved and finished filling dispenser.
– Two cases of raw shell eggs stored on top shelf in walk-in cooler above ready to eat egg patties and sausage egg muffins. Corrected on site: moved eggs to lower shelf near door of walk-in cooler.
– Spray bottles of sanitizer stored on cart above lemon wedger. Corrected on site: moved sanitizer to chemical storage area.
– Ice scoop buried under ice inside of ice machine.
– Case of single use cups setting on floor in basement. Corrected on site: moved off floor.
– Plastic pan stored on top of metal pan on clean dish rack with water between pans.
– Case of single use burger boxes stored on shelf under leaking water line.
– Leaking water line on south wall of basement storage area next to break room.
– Two mops setting inside of mop buckets of dirty water. Corrected on site: dumped water and hung mops.
