HAYS – Two people were injured in an accident just before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Ryan L. Fine, 40, Quenemo, was eastbound on Interstate 70, six miles west of Hays when the rear tire failed.

The driver and a passenger were thrown off of the motorcycle as it traveled into the south ditch.

Fine and the passenger, Rosemary J. Fine, 38, Quenemo, were both transported to Hays Medical Center.

They were wearing helmets and protective eyeglasses.
