Thomas Dean Divilbiss, 76, of Bennington, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 13th.

Thomas was born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 19, 1939, to the late Eula (Campbell) and William Thomas Divilbiss.

He served in the Army National Guard. Thomas worked as a boiler maker and welder.

Survivors include his daughters, Janine, wife of Wade Howell, of Tyler, Texas, Deana, wife of Steve Wiltz, of St. Marys, Kansas, Holly Nichols, of Salina, Kansas, and Shawn Pigorsch, of Salina, Kansas; son, William Gilthorp Divilbiss, of Bennington, Kansas; as well as grandchildren, Whitney, Courtney, Kaicee Nikki, Suzanne, Jeff, Mark, Shannon, Rodney, Jesse, Jordan, and Lakin; and 16 great grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Loraine Werling, 81, of Salina, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. She was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Mount Sterling, Ill., to Leslie and Laura (Tice) Simmons.

She was an administrative assistant in the churches where her husband served as pastor. She was a God-fearing person, always believed in God, and he always came through. She and her husband served churches throughout the United States and Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, the Rev. Dr. Dale A. Werling; and two brothers, Wilbur and Allen Simmons.

She is survived by three daughters, Martha Werling, Mary (Mark) Hassman and Ruth Werling; son, John (Ericka) Werling; and five grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 702 S. Ninth St., Salina, with the Rev. Shawn Deterding officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church.

Graveside services will be in Ossian, Ind.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church for mission work.

Thomas E. Shotwell, 79, of Salina, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. He was born March 11, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, of Salina; son, Kevin and wife Tammi, of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter Kyle, of Salina; and granddaughters, Grace Shotwell and Rose Shotwell, of Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Shotwell came to Salina in 1957 and worked as a letter carrier until his retirement in 1991. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a past commander and life member of American Legion Post 62. He was a member of the VFW, life member of AmVets, and a member of Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite and Isis Shrine.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children of Texas, Galveston Unit, or charity of the donor’s choice and may sent to or left in care of the mortuary.

Rebecca A. “Becky” Whisler, 55, of Salina, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. She was born January 26, 1960 in Wichita, the daughter of Quinton and Martha (Hess) Pinnell.

Becky married Bradley Whisler on June 26, 2001 in Salina. She enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies, especially baking cookies around Christmas. She loved to host get-togethers for friends and family, particularly the fish-fries to highlight all of the fish she caught to showcase her fishing skills. No one was a stranger to Becky. Everyone was family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Quinton Pinnell; stepfather, Robert French; and sister, Tamara Pinnell.

Becky leaves behind her husband Brad; mother, Martha French; daughters, Crystal Trusty (Chad), Brandi Post (Steven), Jennifer Ernzen (Travis), Alison Post and Trisha Whisler; son, Travis Whisler; brother, Jeff Pinnell, and twelve grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 21 at First Covenant Church, 2625 E. Magnolia, Salina 67401. Cremation was chosen; there will be no viewing. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 22 at First Covenant Church, 2625 E. Magnolia, Salina 67401. Private family inurnment will be at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina at a later date.
