Bernadine L. Kindel, age 87, died Sun., Aug. 16, 2015 at her home in Concordia, KS. She was born on June 29, 1928 in Aurora, KS to Francis & Marie (Girard) Cote.
She married William “Bill” Kindel on Nov. 12, 1946 in Aurora, KS. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2003. She was a lifelong homemaker. She and Bill spent most of their lives in Aurora, KS until moving to Concordia in December 1999. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Aurora & Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia.
She is survived by daughters; Anna Marie “Amber” Charbonneau (Ray), Dewey, OK, Anita LaBarge (Mark), Aurora, Gloria Blackwood (Steve), Clay Center & Linda Kindel, Concordia; sons; Eugene Kindel (Kathy), Aurora, Donald Kindel (Geraldine), Victoria, David Kindel (Jan), Carthage, MO, Raymond Kindel (Jolene), Aurora, Stephen Kindel (Susan), Aurora, Richard Kindel (Sheri), Aurora & Daniel Kindel (partner Robin), Alma; sister, Theresa Begnoche, Aurora; brother, Wilfred Cote, Denver, CO; 34 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; 3 brothers & 4sisters; grandsons, Donald Kindel, Jr. & Joshua Kindel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Thurs., Aug. 20, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm with a Vigil service at 6 pm Wed., Aug. 19, 2015 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Bonnie Rapp, 90, of Manhattan, previously of Norcatur, died Sunday, July 12th, 2015, at Manhattan. She was born Saturday, July 19th, 1924, at Norcatur, the daughter of Oliver “Shorty” and Ethyl (McCormack) Wickham.
Bonnie will be inurned next to her husband Bob.
Mrs. Rapp was a homemaker. She graduated from Norcatur High School with the class of 1942.
Married Robert F. “Bob” Rapp on November 14, 1944, at Stockton, KS; and he preceded in death on March 12, 2009.
She is survived by three (3) sons: Barney Rapp (wife-Phyllis) of Clay Center, and Roger Rapp (wife-Sandi) and Ben Rapp (wife-Yvonne) both of Lawrence; a daughter Robin Norris (husband-Eric) of Manhattan; a sister Gen Brunk of Hill City; eleven (11) grandchildren; and seventeen (17) great-grandchildren.

Kenneth “Ken” Forssberg passed away at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born on July 28, 1934 in Rooks County, Kansas to the late Edwin and
Emilie (Vogel) Forssberg.
Ken was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, KS. He attended and graduated from the Mt. Lebanon grade school in Northern Rooks County.
After graduating from Phillipsburg High School with the Class of 1953, Ken began to work as a general contractor in plumbing and electrical work, eventually operating his own business, Forssberg Electric and Air Conditioning. He spent his entire life serving the people of Rooks County and the surrounding areas with any job they needed, big or small.
Ken served numerous terms as mayor and a city commissioner for Stockton. He also provided the sound system for the Rooks County fairgrounds and did the plumbing and electrical work for many years.
A good friend and neighbor, Ken was a hardworking man who was always ready to lend a hand or help out wherever he was needed. He cared for his family, his friends, and of course his beloved cats. He was a long time regular member of the J-Mart coffee crew.
Ken is survived by his sister Kathy Cordell and husband Larry of Council Grove; niece Vickie Cordell and husband Patrick Byrd of Pendleton, Indiana; and nephew Bret Cordell of Paola.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Emilie Forssberg and infant brother.
A man of few words, Ken chose to live his life by action and example through integrity, honesty, and character. Few people will recognize the huge impact he had on their lives from all the work he has done, but all of us are better off because he was here. Thank you Ken. You will be greatly missed.

Marvin Duane Miller, 76, of rural Cawker City passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Salina Regional Health Center.
He was born June 3, 1939, the son of Ellis Wayne and Margaret (Boxum) Miller.
Marvin was united in marriage to Carolyn May on June 27, 1960. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, infant son, Larry Dale; sisters, Jean Frasier and Joline Miller; great granddaughter, Shelbie Paige Schreiner; mother and father-in law, Rhoda and Allen “Rol” Koops; sister and brother -in-law, Peggy and Lawrence Keefer; sister-in-law, Donneta Miller; nephews, Jay Frasier, Dale Frasier and Gerald Miller; nieces, Debbie Miller, Korena Keffer and Christine Mercer and great-niece, Jana Slate.
Survivors include his children: Duane (Kathy) Miller and Donna (Danny) Kennedy of Downs, Bruce (Lisa) Miller of Cawker City; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; brothers Melvin Miller of Downs, Eldon Miller of Cawker City, Darrell (Gail) Miller of Mankato; sister Norma Miller of Cawker City; brother-in-law, Ray Frasier of Downs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church, rural Cawker City.
There will be a visitation from 7-8:30 p.m. on Sunday August 16 at the Church.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association and the Dispatch Cemetery Fund.
