A 30-year-old Salina man has been arrested on requested charges of rape and criminal restraint.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Paul Akumbu is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in her late teens at a central Salina location just before 11:00 p.m. Friday night.

The victim called police, and Akumbu was taken into custody a short time later.
