Salina Police have arrested a man on a charge of child abuse.

25-year-old T-vine Austin was arrested after he allegedly struck a preteen-aged girl with a belt Saturday afternoon.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, police were notified after the girl was treated at Salina Regional Health Center for multiple bruises.

Austin is said to be an acquaintance of the victim.
