A Salina man called police after someone shattered a window of his vehicle. Michael Klocke of 2097 S. 4th, said the front, passenger side window of his 1993 Chevy Silverado pickup was shattered by a rock sometime between 12:30 p.m. August 27th and 12 p.m. August 28th, while it was parked in the backyard of his residence. Total damage to the vehicle has been estimated at $500.

A car stereo system is stolen in a vehicle burglary. Christopher Grant of 826 Cherokee, told police that someone removed the stereo from his Toyota Celica while it was parked at his residence sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. August 22nd. The stereo is valued at $1,000.

There were no signs of forced entry in a vehicle burglary that occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning. Anthony McBurney of 748 S. Front, reported the theft of numerous items from his 1997 Mercury Mountaineer sometime between 9 p.m. Friday night and 4:50 a.m. Saturday, while the vehicle was parked at his residence. Items taken included a Pioneer car stereo valued at $75, a Pioneer amplifier valued at $200, two 12″ gray MTX subwoofers valued at $250 and a 33″ Demarini carbon fiber softball bat valued at $350.

A Salina woman reports that she was the victim of an aggravated burglary over the weekend. Helen Shipley told police that a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer valued at $249, a pack of Eagle menthol 100 cigarettes valued at $4, and $15 in $1 dollar bills were taken from her home at 1515 E. Iron between 11:15 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. There were no signs of forced entry to the home.

A Salina man reports the theft of items from his home. Aaron Kraemer of 138 S. College, told police that his wallet containing $380 in cash and an Apple iPad with a gray case were taken from his bedroom sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. Saturday morning. The iPad and its case are valued at $150. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A vehicle stolen from a Salina residence on Friday, was located early Saturday morning. Martha Smith of 842 Lewis, reported that her 1994 Buick Century Station Wagon was taken from her residence at around 8 p.m. Friday evening. The vehicle was located just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning in the 900 block of Manor Road. Witnesses reported seeing two young males walking from the vehicle after it was parked on Manor. Smith reported that the vehicle was left unlocked and the keys were left in the ignition. No arrests have been made.

Salina Police are investigating a residential burglary in which numerous items were taken from a detached garage. Amanda Giese of 219 S. 12th, reports that items valued at nearly $2,000 belonging to her and Bradley Calvin were taken sometime between 1 p.m. August 25th and 3:30 p.m. August 29th. Items taken included a Fluke 287 multi-meter valued at $449, a carrying puch valued at $32, test leads valued at $64, a Kennedy toolbox valued at $241, two 8 gigabyte DDR RAM memory boards valued at $50, miscellaneous tools valued at $400, a Craftsman Socket set valued at $100, a Sony Cybershot digital camera valued at $100, an oil filter wrench valued at $15, a Black & Decker drill valued at $30, a Ryobi saw valued at $55, a leaf blower valued at $100 an other tools valued at $300. Captain Mike Sweeney said there was no damage to the garage and no signs of forced entry.

A Claflin man reports that he was the victim of several check forgeries. Christopher Kates notified Salina Police on August 24th after discovering seven checks had been written on his closed account. Checks were written on August 20th to Becker Tire, 1140 E. Old Highway 40, in the amount of $880.50, O’Reilly Auto Parts in Abilene in the amount of $252, Salina Interparochial Credit Union, 1927 S. Ohio, in the amount of $2700, an unknown O’Reilly Auto Parts location in the amount of $299, Rod’s Convenience Store, 1339 N. 9th, in the amount of $49.98, Pizza Hut, 1200 S. Santa Fe, in the amount of $50, and to Glass Masters, 340 N. 5th, for a yet to be determined amount. No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
