The Saline County Sheriff’s Office arrested a teenager for the theft of his father’s truck.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells the Salina Post that Joseph Adcock of 4424 E. Crawford, reported his truck, a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, stolen and his son, 18-year-old Trevor Lawrence, missing after he failed to return home with the truck on Saturday.

Lawrence was stopped at around 8 a.m. Monday morning by the Kansas Highway Patrol for speeding on I-70 in Ellsworth County. A 17-year-old runaway from Wichita was in the vehicle with Lawrence when he was stopped.

Lawrence was booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of Felony Theft and Contributing to the Misconduct of  Child.

Kochanowski said that Lawrence may also be facing drug charges from the Kansas Highway Patrol as well.
