Singer, songwriter, Melissa Ndettemi will be performing this Friday in the Fall Art a la Carte series. A native of Kansas, Ndettemi is a regular in coffee shops, pubs and other intimate venues in her hometown of Wichita. She is a gifted guitarist and original songwriter. Her vocal style is soulful and authentic, giving a creative voice to a young generation of lyric poets.
Ndettemi was first presented in Salina at the 2015 Smoky Hill River Festival on the BRAVO stage as the featured musician for the One Mic series hosted by Cash Hollistah. Her performance was considered, by many, a highlight of the BRAVO stage’s line up.
The public performance is part of the Art al la Carte series on Friday, September 18 at 12:20 p.m. The free performance will take place at Robert Caldwell Plaza. Patrons are encouraged to bring a sack lunch or buy a meal from Chapman’s Take Away food truck, located on-site.
