On Monday, September 28th, the contractor for the City of Salina will begin the second phase of construction for improvements on Ohio Street from Elm Street to North Street.

This phase of work will take place on the west side of Ohio Street. Traffic on Ohio Street will be reduced to three lanes; one lane in each direction, with the center turn lane from Elm Street to south of the Ohio and North Street intersection. At the Ohio and North Street intersection, traffic will be reduced to two lanes, while still allowing left turns at the intersection.

North Street will be reduced to two lanes of traffic with one lane in each direction. Large truck traffic will be detoured by way of York Street.

The project is expected to be completed by December 2015. Traffic delays are to be expected and motorists should consider alternate routes.
