Introducing Amanda Otto, your BANK VI Hero of the Week!

Amanda was nominated for her efforts in creating the Wellness Tote Project.

The Wellness Tote Project was designed to help families by providing totes filled with hope, inspiration, and encouragement to men, women, and children who are undergoing cancer treatments.

Amanda delivers the totes to local cancer centers such as the Tammy Walker Cancer Center and the Cancer Center of Kansas, and ships or delivers them to those that she hears can benefit from one of them.

The totes are filled with several items, which are typically donated, including small pillows, blankets, hot and cold packs, hard candy, gum, healthy snacks, ginger candies, oral hygiene items, lotion, hand made note cards, journals, playing cards, ear buds, water bottles, hats or turbans, fuzzy socks or slippers, activity books, gift cards, anti-bacterial gel, back scratchers, lip balm, seat belt covers, fingernail files, and lint rollers. The totes that are delivered to children include some of the above items as well as toys and coloring books.

Amanda says that her goal is to be able to give a tote to everybody that goes through cancer treatment. It’s her way of giving back to those families, like her own, that have been touched by cancer.  Those close her to feel she makes a difference in Salina by providing the totes.
