SALINA, KS – Saint Francis Community Services will host a book signing event October 27th for John Danforth, ordained Episcopal priest and former U.S. Senator and Ambassador to the United Nations. Danforth will appear at a 5:30 p.m., private reception and then at a 6 p.m. community event at the Salina Community Theatre, 303 E. Iron Ave., to sign copies of his new book “The Relevance of Religion: How Faithful People Can Change Politics.”
A limited number of tickets are available for both the private reception and the community event. Admission includes a copy of the book for Senator Danforth to sign. Proceeds will be used to benefit the mission, programs, and services of Saint Francis Community Services.
For more than a decade, Danforth has written extensively on the negative use of religion as a divisive force in American politics. In “The Relevance of Religion: How Faithful People Can Change Politics,” he offers a thoughtful and deeply personal look at the state of American politics today and how religion can bridge the partisan divide.
Persons interested in meeting Senator Danforth and receiving a signed copy are encouraged to register online at www.st-francis.org/danforth.
