Evelyn I. Portenier, 77, of Washington, KS, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Centennial Homestead Nursing Home in Washington.

Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 14 at the Morrowville Christian Church.

Burial: Dale Friends (Enosdale) Cemetery.

Hillsboro – James Hiebert, 82, died October 10, 2015 in Hillsboro.  He was born August 5, 1933 to Henry G. and Margaret (Ensz) Hiebert at Hillsboro.  He married Lillian Nikkel September 18, 1955 at Inman.  He was a dairyman / Farmer.  Survivors include: wife, Lillian Hiebert of Hillsboro; sons, Reginald (Lori) Rural Hillsboro, Richard (Bonnie) of Rural Hillsboro, Terry (Barbara) of Pecos, Texas, Kevin (Kayla) Rural Hillsboro; daughters, Sharon (Jim) Mininger of Willcox, Arizona, Jenny (Shawn) Horst of Bridgewater, Maine, Connie Hiebert of Hillsboro, Val (Tim) Litwiller of Rural Hillsboro, Darla (Kendall) Wenger of Newton; 29 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Donald of Iroquois, South Dakota, Van of Stapleton, Georgia.  Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Alexanderfeld Mennonite Church 1 mile West and South of Hillsboro officiated by Minister Gordon Koehn and Minister Orlin Ensz.  Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 Tuesday at the Church.  Memorials to Moundridge Manor in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.
