Introducing Kristina Litchman, your BANK VI Hero of the Week!

Kristina was nominated for her efforts in supporting the Ronald McDonald House by collecting pop tabs for donation to the charity.

In 2011, Kristina gave birth to a son with a disability. Because of this, Kristina and her husband stayed at a Ronald McDonald House in Wichita while the child was being treated. Because of her stay at the Ronald McDonald House, Kristina became very passionate about collecting pop tabs to donate to help defray the cost for other parents who choose to stay at one of the houses while their child is hospitalized.

Since 2011, Kristina has collected bags and boxes of pop tabs that have been brought in or sent from out of state to Central National Bank, where she works, by individuals who want to help her support the Ronald McDonald houses. Several local businesses, organizations, and schools have come on board to help by saving and getting the pop tabs to her. On average, Kristina received pop tabs for donation about 4 to 5 times a week.

Kristina and her husband make many trips to Wichita with a car load and trunk filled with bags and boxes of pop tabs that they deliver to one of the houses. These tabs are then recycled and the money is sent back to the Ronald House charity to help other families who stay at the houses when their child is hospitalized. Collecting and donating pop tabs to this cause is her way of giving other families the same opportunity she was given while her child was being cared for.

Kristina said anyone can donate pop tabs to her cause by dropping them off at either of one of Salina’s Central National Bank locations at 454 S. Ohio and at Walmart, 2900 S. 9th.
