Introducing Paul Morgan, your BANK VI Hero of the Week!
Paul was nominated for his commitment to the community in helping provide sound and audio for numerous local Salina events.
On October 16th, he retired after 25 year of providing the sound for the Salina Arts & Humanities presentations of the Art al a Carte series.
In addition to Art al a Carte, he has also provided sound for several other community events throughout the years including the Martin Luther King Day Celebration, the Smoky Hill River Festival, the Smoky Hill Museum Street Fair, and even some events at the Stiefel Theatre, including their grand opening show in 2003 that featured Jim Belushi & The Sacred Hearts.
Paul also does sound system installation and how-to classes for the House of Worship. Paul also has a recording studio where has recorded local favorites such as Don Wagner and Ann Zimmerman and even his own band, “The Wanted Band”.
Paul says that he plans on continuing with providing sound and audio at some events, but feels that after 25 years, it’s time for someone else to take over.
He says that he has postponed family vacations and even scheduled his wedding around an event in order to be available to provide quality sound.
Paul said that even though he has retired, he is opening to returning if a replacement is not found. “I’m not going to let the citizen’s of Salina down”, he said.
