A 24-year-old man received several stitches for a cut to his right forearm after being confronted by two men wearing masks outside of the business where he works at around 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said the man was taking out trash just before closing time behind Carmelita’s Mexican Goods, located at 1859 S. 9th in Kraft Manor, when two men wearing black hoodies with the hoods up and black masks covering their faces, approached him.

After one of the men cut the victim, they left eastbound from behind Kraft Manor.

The victim drove himself to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of the cut.

Captain Sweeney said officers continue to investigate to determine why the suspects cut the man and then left.
