The holiday season in Salina was officially kicked off on Saturday with a festival of events that culminated with the 23rd Annual Parade of Lights.
The parade featured entrants from over 60 area businesses and other participants.
The day’s events began with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Frosty 5K and included other events such as horse-drawn carriage rides, cookie decorating, antique fire truck rides, a live nativity and even cookies with Mrs. Claus.
A large crowd gathered just before 6 p.m. along Santa Fe, from Elm to Prescott, and watched as many vehicles and floats passed by illuminated with Christmas lights.
