Several area high schools find themselves in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Preseason rankings to start the new season.

In Class 3A, the Southeast of Saline Trojans will start the season ranked #7.

In Class 4A-Division 1, the Abilene Cowboys are ranked at #3, while the McPherson Bullpups are at #4.

The Knights of Salina Sacred Heart are ranked #2 in Class 2-1A.

In girls basketball, the Lady Bullpups of McPherson are ranked at #2, while the Abilene Cowgirls are ranked #6 in Class 4A-Division 1.
