A mixture of freezing rain, sleet, and light snow will continue to cause problems for shoppers and motorist through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

After .86 of rain in Salina Thanksgiving, a thin coat of ice and sleet covered city streets early Friday morning. Law enforcement reported several slide offs of highways in central Kansas beginning late Thursday evening.

The wintry weather is expected to continue into early next week, although little if any accumulation of ice or snow is in the forecast through the weekend. Highs will be in the low 30s and nighttime temperatures will fall back into 20s. By the middle of next week, highs should be in the 40s.
