Saline Co. Food Establishment & Lodging Inspections, November 26 – December 2, 2015

inspectionsFood Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Saline County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from November 26 through December 2, 2015.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

Ad Astra Books & Coffee, 141 N. Santa Fe Ave. (December 1) Follow Up Inspection
– Open cup of tea on counter above single service beverage cups. Corrected on site: moved cup of tea.
– Ice scoop handle stored touching ice inside ice machine bin. Corrected on site: removed ice scoop.
– Half and half temperatures between 43.0 – 46.0 degrees F, whole milk temperature 45.4 – 47.0 degrees F, soy milk temperature between 45.0 – 46.2 degrees F, almond milk temperature betweeen 45.6 – 48.0 degrees F, beirocks temperature between 45.7 – 46.4 degrees F, quiche temperature at 45.7 degrees F, chicken noodle soup temperature at 45.0 degrees F, pot pies temperature between 43.8 – 47.1 degrees F, yogurt temperature at 47.3 degrees F, potato soup temperature at 47.9 degrees F, hummus temperature at 48.9 degrees F, stainless steel reach-in cooler at 41.1 degrees F. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction (repeat violation from last inspection)
– No thermometer inside Sanyo reach-in cooler. Corrected on site: moved thermometer from black reach-in cooler with no potentially hazardous foods to Sanyo reach-in cooler.
– No soap available at handwashing sink. Corrected on site: supplied soap.

Buffalo Wild Wings, 2588 S. 9th St. (November 30) Regular Inspection
– Wet wiping cloth stored inside cleaning solution in a green bucket on the line and one wet wiping cloth setting on counter top in expo area.
– Bar mixing glasses with tape on outer surface for measuring guide are nested on top of each other. Corrected on site: moved to warewashing and will discontinue nesting.

Imperial Garden, 2259 S. 9th St. – Suite 152 (December 2) Complaint Inspection
– No Violations

KFC #106, 430 S. Broadway Blvd. (December 2) Complaint Inspection
– One spatula hanging on clean dish rack has cuts and tears in center of blade. Corrected on site: disposed of spatula.
– Wall of register area island is water damaged and full of holes.

McDonald’s of Salina, 701 S. Broadway Blvd. (December 1) Complaint Inspection
– No Violations

Renaissance Cafe, 210 N. Center St. (December 2) Regular Inspection
– No mop sink available.

Salina Rescue Mission, 1716 Summers Rd. (November 30) Regular Inspection
– Chipped lid on storage container of sugar. Corrected on site: disposed of chipped lid.
– Spray bottle of yellowish liquid not labeled with common name. Corrected on site: labeled as bleach water.

Tom’a Appletree, 2450 S. 9th St. (December 2) Complaint Inspection
– Men’s toilet room floor has accumualtion of debris between wall and toilet.
