Lucille (Snyder) Reynolds, 76, of Salina, died in her home Friday, Dec. 4, 2015. She was born to Richard and Ruby (Smith) Snyder on Dec. 20, 1938. She was the youngest of three children and the only one born in a hospital, St. John’s Hospital in Salina.

Lucille grew up in Salina and attended Franklin Elementary, Salina High School and Brown Mackie Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper for NBA. She later was a child care provider who especially enjoyed babies and toddlers, teaching them to walk and talk.

She married George Reynolds in 1959 at University Methodist Church. She loved and cared for her husband, who has M.S. Lucille enjoyed picking wild fruits (grapes, plums and elderberries) in the summer and making jams and jellies to give to family and friends. She was an eight-year breast cancer survivor. She knitted lap blankets for chemotherapy patients at Victory in the Valley of Wichita. She was famous for making all kinds of yummy cookies. She made friends wherever she went, and she will be missed by all of us.

She is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Janell Flores (Keith Shoemaker), of Lincoln, and Joyce Reynolds (Jack Smith), of St. Joseph, Mo.; grandchildren, Angela (Mark) Cutright, and David, Dan, Chris and Kelley Smith; great-grandchildren, Lilly, McKayla, Allen and Andrew; sister, Wanda Whitesell, of Bennington; brother, Dwane Snyder, of South Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend, Janel Kim, of Minneapolis, and extended family, Jan Lilly, of Salina, Ryan (Danelle) Carlin, of North Carolina, Kendra Carlin, of Florida, and her sweet cat, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private inurnment and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Victory in the Valley of Wichita or the animal rescue organization of your choice, and may be sent to or left at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
