Southeast of Saline USD 306 has announced that school will be closed Tuesday, December 15th due to continued flooding in the eastern and southern portions of the district.

In a statement on the district’s Facebook page, officials said they are hopeful that water will begin to recede tomorrow morning and afternoon.

High school basketball games against Beloit will still be played as scheduled Tuesday evening.

High water continues to be an issue in Southeastern Saline County and the majority of gravel roads in that area are in very poor condition.

Southeast of Saline school officials says if school is to be held on Tuesday, the district will be using mud routes for what may be the first time ever or at least the first time in a long time. District officials expect issues with this plan that have not been previously anticipated, but say they will be follow the plan and will “clean it up” with each successive use.
