99KG is once again partnering with Walmart, The Salina Police Department, The Saline County Sheriff’s Office, and The U.S. Marines to make sure that no child goes without waking up to a new toy on Christmas morning. The 99KG Toys For Tots Toy-A-Thon begins Saturday morning at Walmart in Salina.

99KG’s Shane McClintock will pitch a tent and sleep outside Walmart until 5,000 toys are donated. According to McClintock, the Toy-A-Thon is the largest promotion of the year for the radio station.

“Last year it took 40 hours. Our goal is to reach 5,000 by the end of the Chiefs game Sunday,” said McClintock.

Some of the toys collected are distributed to The Salina Police Department and The Saline County Sheriff’s Office for children in need of care and those involved in domestic disturbances. The others toys are for kids who otherwise wouldn’t get a gift on Christmas.
