Storm forces New Mexico St-Wichita St basketball postponement UPDATE

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State’s men’s basketball game with New Mexico State, originally scheduled for Monday night, has now been postponed indefinitely.

The schools are working to identify potential makeup dates later this season, but no decisions have been made. Season ticket holders will be notified once a plan is in place.

Winter storms played havoc on NMSU’s original travel itinerary, canceling the team’s Sunday flight from El Paso, Texas to Wichita. Continued attempts on Monday to book a replacement flight, commercial or charter, were unsuccessful.

WSU and NMSU agreed Monday morning to postpone the game at least one day. By Monday evening, both sides had given up on the possibility of playing Tuesday, either.

WSU hosts Drake at 1p.m. Thursday in its Missouri Valley Conference opener, and NMSU has a home game of its own scheduled for Wednesday night against Arizona Christian.
