Salina Public Library’s first Monday Night Book Discussion of 2016 will be on “A Higher Call: An Incredible True Story of Combat and Chivalry in the War-Torn Skies of WWII” by Adam Makos and Larry Alexander. The discussion will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Technology Center Conference Room.

“A Higher Call” is the true story of two World War II airmen, one American and one German, and their encounter in the skies over Germany in 1943. The book tells of both pilots harrowing war-time missions and their reunion 40 years later.

A limited number of copies of “A Higher Call” are available for checkout at the library. The public is welcome to attend the library’s Monday Night Book Discussions.
