Pauline Carter, 63, Salina, passed January 2, 2016. She was born December 30, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Bobby; daughter Sharon Bush; sons, Thomas James Hurt and Paul Michael Hurt; stepdaughters, Elisha Hampton and Molly Carter; stepson, Colt Carter; brothers Mitchell “Mitch” Major and Henry Creel; sisters Bonnie O. Kenyon, Mary Woodhull, and Barbara Jean Ross; sister-in-law, Betsy Hines; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, January 6th at Church of Christ, Salina. Private burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Memorials are to the family for funeral expenses.

Howard N. VanDeWege, 77, of Salina, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2015. He was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Norton, the son of Gerrit and Hilda G. (Curry) VanDeWege.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He returned to Almena and worked as an electrician. On May 14, 1978, he married Pamela Bradley. He was very active in Sunflower Pioneer Power Association & Norton County Genealogy.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Lynn (Bradley) VanDeWege, in 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Martin and husband Kyle, of Salina, and Jessica Seale and husband Bill, of Mobile, Ala.; and six grandchildren, Bradley, Benjamin, Gabriel, Gage, Grayson and Galadriel.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Almena Congregational Church. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Almena.

Betty Saucier, 81 of Abilene passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Village Manor in Abilene. She was born April 20, 1934 in New Cambria, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Fay (Conn) Jungel. She grew up in the Dickinson County area and graduated from Solomon. She worked as a bank teller at First National Bank in Abilene for twenty plus years. On June 2, 1968 she was united in marriage to Robert Saucier in Clifton, Texas. He survives of the home. Other survivors include one sister and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and a brother.
Funeral Services for Betty will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Colborn officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. HERINGTON-David Chelsea Hawkinson, 69, of Emporia, KS, died Wednesday evening, December 23rd, 2015, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on June 12th, 1946, at Herington, Kansas, the son of Wm. Leslie and Lorene (Naslund) Hawkinson.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 6th, 2016, at Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, with Pastor Bill Peterson, officiating.
David was baptized at the Hebron Lutheran Church in Burdick, Kansas. He attended school in Burdick. He collected baseball cards, enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing ten point pitch.
He was preceded in death by his father (in 1948) and his mother (in 2011.)
He is survived by an aunt Linnea Barlow of Burdick, KS, uncle Donald F. Hawkinson of Washington, and many relatives of the Burdick area.

HERINGTON – Maureen E. Obermeyer, 73, of Herington, died Monday, January 4th, 2016, at her home. She was born at Dundee, Scotland, on August 21, 1942, the daughter of Leonard and Helen E. (Urquhart) Hancock.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am., Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington, with Pastor Bill Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Zeiner Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.
Mrs. Obermeyer was a homemaker and she also assisted with the Pre-School in Herington. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and was very active with the Ladies Aide.
She married Marvin C. “Butch/Obe” Obermeyer, Jr. on December 6, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington. Survived by a son Michael Obermeyer (wife-Dawn) of Wichita; three (3) daughters: Anita Cook (husband-Jim) of Manhattan, Sharon Murphy (husband-Bill) of Louisburg, Michelle Obermeyer(companion-Norman Savoy) of Junction City; two (2) brothers: Errol Hancock (wife-Hazel) of Devon, Alberta, Canada, and Michael Hancock (wife-Muji) of Sydney, Australia; and nine (9) grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Helen (11/28/1997) and Leonard (09/26/2006).

Sue Posey, daughter of Theodore Cox and Ina L. (Hannah) Cox was born October 3, 1937 at Southwest City, Missouri and passed away on January 4, 2016 at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 1 day.
She graduated from Deshler High School with the class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Joe Posey on October 29, 1980. She was a nurse until having a stroke in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Ernest Kapperman, brother, Robert Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Posey of Hebron, Nebraska, one son, Jon Kaenel of New Iberia, Louisiana, four daughters, Vernie McNamee of Lafayette, Louisiana, Joni (Michael) Branigan of Papillion, Nebraska, Debra Wallace of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Lisa (Kelly) Christensen of Youngsville, Louisiana, 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, two sisters, Kathi (Kenneth) Ekeler of York, Nebraska, Mitzi (Terry) Gitlin of Castro Valley, California
