John “Jack” Kendall Bailey, III, 65 of Wichita, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016. He was born August 21, 1950 in Oak Park, Illinois.
He worked Star Lumber as a saw operator for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John K. and Joan Bailey, II;
Survivors include his wife, Kristina (Tina) Bailey of the home; daughters, Corie Tarello and fiancé Michael of Mulvane, and Cyndi (Dave) Bigbee of Great Falls, MT ; brother, Jerry (Tina) Bailey of Camarillo, CA; grandchildren, Ashleigh Patterson, Brenden Powell both of Mulvane, Joshua Bigbee of Sturtevant, WI and Rachel Bigbee of Virginia Beach; and one great grandchild, Logann Bigbee;

SOLOMON — Rebekah J. “Becky” Lehman, 62, of Solomon, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016. She was born Sept. 27, 1953, in Salina, the daughter of Harry and Evelyn (Haley) Henry.
Becky worked for the Salina Water Department. She ran her own day care center and the Bennington Cafe. She was a foster mother and proud of being a published author.
Becky was preceded in death by: her parents and a sister, Nancy Trow.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Lehman; two daughters, Christy Price and Jana Harrison; two sons, Christopher Lehman and Drew Trimmer; brother, Jim (Susan) Henry; sister, Jennifer (Paul) Faubion; and eight grandchildren, Malik, Sasha, Gracie, Emily, Austin, Andrew, Jason and Julie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Emmanuel Christian Center, Salina. Cremation was chosen and burial of ashes will be this spring.
Memorials are to the church. Ryan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Loraine Kozlowski Serrault, 81, of Salina, passed away Jan. 1, 2016, in the company of her loving family. Loraine was born June 29, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of Stanley and Helen Kozlowski.
Loraine was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Serrault in 1977, and two brothers, Stanley Jr. and Ernest Serrault.
Loraine was especially proud of her Polish heritage. She fondly remembered family gatherings at the lake and old school friends and would often recall stories of the summers she spent at her aunt and uncles farm. Loraine’s heart was always in Detroit.
Loraine attended Our Lady Queen of Angels School and Chadsey School in Detroit.
In 1953, Loraine enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. She received training at Paris Island and was stationed at El Toro Marine Air Base in California. Loraine never tired of relating the adventures she experienced while serving in the Marines.
Loraine met and married her husband, Robert Charles Serrault, in 1954, in California. They moved to Salina in 1954, and began their family life together. Loraine became a homemaker, and Bob became the general manager of Serrault Roofing Company. Together they had three children, Gregory, Karna and Krista.
Loraine and her children attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She dedicated herself completely to her family, always supporting them in every possible way. Loraine was a wonderful homemaker who loved family activities and was always on the go with her children. She gave of herself fully and without reservation in creating a happy home environment filled with comfort and encouragement. Loraine possessed a lively charming personality, a deep maternal spirit and a true love of life which she expressed with sincerity and sparkling enthusiasm. She will be forever greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. Loraine always reminded her children and grandchildren to say their prayers at night and now we will pray for her as she enters eternal life.
Loraine is survived by her children, Gregory Charles Serrault, Karna Kaylene Hanks and husband Gary and Krista Weatherd and husband Greg; five granddaughters, Kyla Hanks Johnson, Alisha Hanks, Ashlin Hanks, Loralin Hanks and Jaia Hanks; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Garrett, Lilyian and Kalliauna; and one brother, Robert Kozlowski.
A Celebration of Life and memorial service will be held on Loraine’s birthday.

Warren Lee Hargreaves, 73 of Salina, formerly of Solomon passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Salina Regional Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1942 in Abilene, the son of Don and Janice (Parks) Hargreaves. He attended the Solomon School District and graduated from Solomon in 1960.
Warren was a farmer for most of his life and later became a salesman.
Warren is survived by his loving wife Marsha of Salina. He is also survived by a son, Dion Hargreaves, one daughter, Monica Junghans and one grandson, Devon Junghans all of Salina. Two brothers, Larry and Bruce Hargreaves, one sister, Donna and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Warren also leaves behind many friends and classmates that he loved very much.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association and/or the Solomon High School Scholarship in memory of Warren Hargreaves.

WHITEWATER – Dorothy I. Wiebe, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Kansas Christian Home, in Newton, Kansas. She was born August 14, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry and Kate (Jantz) Unruh. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gene Unruh; and a sister, Kathryn Hiebert. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Wilbert Wiebe, daughters Gail Toevs and husband Russell of Whitewater; Brenda Wuthrich and husband Tim of Whitewater; Deanna Hostetler and husband Calvin of Rocky Ford, Colorado; and a son, Brad Wiebe and wife Mary of Whitewater. She had 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation with family will be held on Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Emmaus Mennonite Church. Her Funeral Service will be at 11 o’clock a.m., on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Emmaus Mennonite Church near Whitewater. A private family interment will be in the Emmaus Mennonite Cemetery. John W. Rupp, age 77, passed away on Janurary 10, 2016 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. He was born October 27, 1938 at Hillsboro, Kansas the son of Walter and Evelyn Hauser Rupp. John graduated from Marion High School, attended Wichita State University, and served in the United States Army. He was a retired commercial pilot. On August 11, 1963 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Russell. One daughter was born to this union. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jeanette. He is survived by daughter Laura Baldwin of Marion, a sister Marlys Jean Hollar of Wichita, and three grandsons, Isaac, Jacob, and Nathan. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Marion Christian Church. There will be a visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. A memorial has been established with the Marion Christian Church.

ICEL MAE SMITH, 91 died January 8, 2016 at Residence in Clay Center, Ks. She was born on December 3, 1924 in Clay County, KS. The daughter of Julius and Julia (Hedlund) Nelson.
Icel was the youngest of four children. She grew up on a farm in northeast Clay County where she attended Idlewild School for eight years and then graduated from Clay Center High School in 1942. On October 10, 1943, she married John Rothfuss at her parent’s home near Idana, Kansas. They lived south of Miltonvale until 1945 when they moved to rural Clifton where their three sons, Jerry, Larry and Dennis were born. In 1980, John and Icel moved to a home built by their sons on a farm east of Miltonvale, Kansas. John died on December 12, 1986. On April 27, 1993 she married Harley Smith. They had a wonderful marriage and enjoyed many trips. Harley died on January 6, 2005. Icel was fortunate to remain on the farm and continued making farming decisions until her death. Icel leaves a legacy of being kind, thoughtful, and generous to everyone she knew.
She is preceded in death by parents; two husbands; granddaughter, Jill Johnson; brother, Loren Nelson; sisters, Opal and Melva Rothfuss; and two step grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her generation of Rothfusses and Nelsons.

Alene Marie Anderson (Collini), 94, died Friday, January 8, 2016 at Covenant Village of Colorado, Westminster, Colo.
Alene was born August 12, 1921 in Buffalo, New York, daughter of Mary Collini.
She grew up in Buffalo, NY, and graduated from South Park High School. While attending North Park College in Chicago, IL, she met Leland Anderson from Clay Center, KS. They married in 1945 and worked as missionaries in DRC Congo for 30 years teaching in local primary and secondary schools. From 1975-1996 they lived in Clay Center, KS where Leland was pastor for the Clay Center and Alert Covenant Churches. She supported church outreach work and then her community after Leland’s retirement by volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Hospice care. Alene received her BA from Kansas State University in 1980. They retired to Covenant Village of Colorado in Westminster in 1996. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland.
Survivors include children Steven Anderson and daughter-in-law Colette, Gordon Anderson, Lynn Anderson and husband Jim Stevens, Sally Anderson; grandchildren Lumana Seide and husband Welson, Edward Anderson and Josephine Locke, Tanya Anderson; great-grandchildren Azariah, Amyrah, and Zachary Seide, and Seven Anderson.
The Memorial Service for Alene will be Thursday, January 14, at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Covenant Village of Colorado.

Charles E. Sipes, 77, passed away January 6, 2016 in Wichita. He was born November 16, 1938 in Elkhart, KS to Evelyn (Hale) and William Edward Sipes.
