The Salina Liberty indoor professional football team announced the signing of a Sterling College quarterback on Sunday.
Reggie Langford, a native of Rancho Cordova, California and a natural athlete, was an all-league quarterback and 3 time all-league track athlete at Cordova High School.
From there, Langford attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, where was an integral part of the Warrior’s offense for the past two seasons.
During the 2013 season, Langford helped lead the Warriors to their first KCAC Football Championship in school history, where he passed for over 1,521 yards with 19 touchdowns and rushed for 1,144 yards on the ground with nine touchdowns. He was named to the All-KCAC Second Team as a Quarterback.
Reggie finished the 2014 season with 795 yards rushing, 1,493 through the air, and was responsible for 22 touchdowns (seven rushing and 15 passing). His best game of the 2014 season was against Kansas Wesleyan University when Langford passed for 334 yards, rushed for 134 yards, and was responsible for seven touchdowns in the game to earn his third career KCAC Offensive Player of the Week award. As a dual threat quarterback, Langford was named All-KCAC Second Team for his excellent 2014 season.
In his two year career with Sterling, Langford finished with 3,014 yards passing, 34 passing touchdowns, and completed just over 51% of his passes. He also rushed for 1,939 yards on the ground with 16 touchdowns.
After his tenure with Sterling was over, he signed to play professionally for the Hamburg Huskies based out of Hamburg, Germany, who competed in the GFL1, which is the top division in Germany. He helped lead them to the playoffs in their first season in the top division. Their record there was 5-3 and Langford threw for 891 yards with 11 touchdowns and ran for 401 yards on 79 carries with 3 rushing touchdowns.
Langford is the second oldest of 8 children. He is also recently married and expecting his first child.
Langford joins a Liberty offense that includes former Salina Bomber receivers Attrail Snipes and Pelton Smalls, as well as former Kansas Koyote and one-time Bomber quarterback Kyle Cool and former Bomber offensive lineman Ed Prince. The Liberty also recently signed running back/wide receiver Ed Smith from Fort Hays State University and running back Terrence Lowe from Washburn University.
