Saline County Sheriff’s Captain Roger Soldan has declared his candidacy for Saline County Sheriff in the 2016 elections.

Soldan, a lifelong resident of Saline County, has served the Sheriff’s Office for the past 28 years. He started as a deputy in the former Saline County Juvenile Detention Center. During his career, he has been a Juvenile Corrections Officer, Adult Corrections Officer, Patrol Deputy, Traffic Safety Officer, Criminal Investigator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Jail Administrator and currently holds the rank of Captain, serving as the Commander of the Operations and Investigations Division.

“Each of those positions have provided me with the experience and insight to serve the citizens of Saline County as Sheriff,” Soldan said. “As Sheriff, I will strive to work with the county to address the inmate population issues and budgetary issues we are currently facing. My focus would be to provide county residents with progressive law enforcement. I treat people as I would expect to be treated and I would work to build that into the culture of the sheriff’s office.”

Soldan filed his declaration of intent to run for Saline County Sheriff with the Saline County Clerk Friday afternoon.
