SALINA, KAN. – On Tuesday, members of the Saline County Farm Bureau Association board met with Congressman Tim Huelskamp, who represents Salina in Washington.

Huelskamp discussed many issues with the board members, including the federal government’s overreach with the Waters of the United States rule and the Endangered Species Act. How the government addresses technology in agriculture, especially FAA regulation on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, was also an issue of concern.

Huelskamp also highlighted trade and the members discussed proposals to sell more Kansas agricultural products around the world. A reliable private crop insurance market is part of that equation.

The Congressman said on the discussion, “Meetings like this one with the Saline County Farm Bureau help confirm and spread new light on the problems Kansas farmers and ranchers face because of Obama’s overregulation. This year I will continue to fight for Kansas agriculture at the national level, so those at home can focus on their own livelihoods and not the feds.”
