Join CAPS at the Saline County 4-H Building, 900 Greeley Ave., from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 for the 27th Annual Celebrity Benefit Auction. The event which raises 10% of the agency’s programming features autographed celebrity memorabilia and locally donated services, furniture, quilts, baskets, art, trips and more. Signed celebrity memorabilia includes:
- An autographed Royals Baseball Card collection of 150 cards including George Brett, Dan Quisenberry, Bo Jackson, Frank White, Hal McRae, Willie Willison and Bret Saberhagen
- Autographed baseball cards from Hall of Famers Harmon Killebrew, Bob Lemon and Gaylord Perry
- Autographed player card from deceased KC Chiefs Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas
- A Rolling Stones signed Fender guitar
- A Walking Dead signed and framed cast photo a Charles Schulz signed and framed Snoopy sketch
- A Star Wars Episode VII framed movie poster signed by 13 cast members
- A framed Batman movie poster signed by Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale and George Clooney
- An Adele signed and framed “Rolling In The Deep” sheet music
- An Eagles signed and framed “Hotel California” sheet music

- A Denver Broncos desk helmet signed by John Elway
- Autographed golf balls from Tom Watson, Byron Nelson and Cary Middlekaf

The admission is free and an affordable lunch is offered by Bill Fekas. His famous chicken noodles and pulled pork sandwiches are paired with dessert and a drink for just $7.
The agency thanks the Board of Directors and Auction Committee for the countless hours expended. Under the direction of Kim Mowery, Fundraising Chairperson, the auction is sure to be a huge success. “I am honored to be a small part of this amazing organization. These volunteers understand that their work will impact children who have experienced abuse or witnessed a violent crime. They get that CAPS visits the homes of struggling families providing legal advocacy, teaching parents family management skills and giving them more tools for their parenting toolbox. They have invested personally into our organization through their time and treasure and are a vital part of our ability to improve children’s lives and strengthen families.
CAPS is a 501(c)3 local, not for profit organization whose mission is to improve children’s lives and strengthen families through education, advocacy and support. The 2 intervention programs include Chris’s Place – Child Advocacy Center and Ottawa/Salina County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). The 6 prevention based programs are Happy Bear, Bullying Prevention Education, Parenting Education, Respite Child Care, Family Mentoring and Support and the Saline County School Readiness Project.
