Council Grove – Richard William Ross, 67, of Council Grove, passed away January 26, 2016, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Rick was born March 25, 1948 in Council Grove, KS, to Raymond Harold and Madeline Virginia (Warneke) Ross. He graduated from Council Grove High School and attended Emporia State University.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He had worked for Neosho Construction and was currently working for the Morris County Road Department.

Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and most of all spending time with family and friends. He loved and adored his sons and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Joy Gay and Cheryl Cameron.

Rick is survived by his two sons, Johnny Ross and Matt Ross and wife Chanell, all of Council Grove; grandchildren, Greyson and Brooklyn Ross; brother, Randy Ross and wife Anna, of Council Grove; sister, Penny Nelson and husband Bob, of White City; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Rick will be sadly missed by all.

A Celebration of Ricks Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 30th at the Kanza View Cove, Council Grove Reservoir.  Casual dress is suggested.
