Surveyors will soon be conducting work on westbound I-70 in order to gather information necessary for the detailed design of a proposed bridge replacement over Chapman Creek in Dickinson County. The survey will take place along a corridor .7 miles east-west of the present bridge. The survey is scheduled to begin Monday, February 1st, and will be completed by April 1st weather permitting.

A member of the survey crew will first contact property owners and/or tenants for permission prior to entering private property. Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.

Joseph Bowen, P.S., Field Service Manager, will be in charge of this survey for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
