The Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts has added two new concert events to their calendar.
GRAHAM NASH – Saturday, April 30 at 8 p.m.
MATT ANDERSEN – Wednesday, May 4 at 8 p.m.
Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, February 5 at 9 a.m. Tickets for Graham Nash start at $36. Tickets for Matt Andersen are $18 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash announces additional U.S. tour dates in support of his new studio album, This Path Tonight, which will be released worldwide on April 15, 2016. The album will be available on CD, Digital and Vinyl thru Nash’s Blue Castle Label, distributed thru ADA worldwide.
Nash is set to hit the road along with guitarist and producer Shane Fontayne. He will continue his long-time tradition of raising money for charity through the Guacamole Fund’s special benefit seats; in addition, he will be donating $1 per ticket sold to charity.
“When you strip a song down to its very essence, you either have a song worth singing… or you don’t,” says Nash. “Playing music with Shane Fontayne is and always will be very satisfying. He has an innate sense of ‘performance’ and of arrangement. He never loses sight of the fact that the song must ‘come alive’, must have a reason for being sung in the first place. We want to look in the eyes of our audience, we want to know that we are connecting on a very real level. What a pleasure this tour will be for me.”
This Path Tonight is the new studio album and collection of 10 original songs from Graham Nash. Produced by Shane Fontayne, this is Nash’s first solo record of new music in fourteen years. The album is one of reflection and transition of a singer-songwriter whose career (the Hollies, CSN, CSNY) has spanned more than five decades and counting.
“What a pleasure it was recording this album,” says Graham Nash. “Shane and I had written 20 songs in a month and recorded them in eight days. The music has a different feel to my earlier albums although I hear echoes of each one. This journey of mine was one of self-discovery, of intense creation, of absolute passion.”

Matt Andersen has been enthralling audiences with his one-of-a-kind performance across the world for years. On February 26th, this multi-award winning New Brunswick belter will release his seventh studio album Honest Man via True North Records. The follow up to his 2014 JUNO Award nominated album Weightless, Honest Man sees the powerhouse songwriter pushing himself into new territory.
“‘Honest Man’ is a plea for people to avoid getting caught up in the circus of pounding fists and hollow promises, to search for the ones who are really out there to do the right thing and move forward, not backward,” Andersen told Relix. “What got me thinking about this idea was an editorial cartoon of Trump and Sanders at a press conference. The cartoon clearly depicted that the press was much more interested in catching Trump’s ‘car accident’ speech – the kind you hate to see but can’t look away from – and ignoring Sanders who was trying to touch on the real issues.”
Recorded in New York last fall with producer Commissioner Gordon (Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Santana, Quincy Jones) Honest Man is Andersen’s most accessible album to date, with Gordon adding a depth of production that previous records only hinted at. Matching this, Andersen has written ten songs that explore both the political and personal. In addition to the political cartoon-inspired title track, “Let’s Get Back” has Andersen thinking about how his country as a nation has changed, but not for the better. “All The Way” takes a more personal approach as he sings about the decision to fully commit to a relationship while “I’m Giving In” muses about the moments leading up to that commitment. Honest Man is a watershed album full of transcendent musical moments that should elevate the songwriter from internationally acclaimed to world renowned.
