UPDATE: The Salina Police tells The Salina Post that workers with the Kansas Gas Service remain at the scene of a gas leak on Harsh Avenue.

Crews still have a portion of Harsh blocked, but the street is no longer officially closed.

Harsh Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to 8th Street is currently closed due to a gas leak.

The Salina Police Department tells The Salina Post the street will be shut down for an unknown amount of time while work continues in the area.

Motorists are encourage to avoid the area or use a different route.
