A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital after an accident at the intersection of Crawford and Montrose early Saturday afternoon.

Salina Master Police Officer Rande Repp tells The Salina Post at the scene that a white passenger vehicle driven by 79-year-old Bernita Garst was eastbound on West Crawford, when she turned left in front of a westbound Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Jeremy Shirland. The motorcycle struck the passenger’s side of Garst’s vehicle.

Garst was not injured. Shirland was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m.
