A man who took a six pack of root beer, a gift card, and a small amount of cash is found a short time after crime Sunday morning.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said a woman who was in the process moving out of the Hawthorne Apartments, 715 N. 9th, encountered 39-year-old Joseph Richards in the living room, who displayed a knife .

Richards took a six pack of Coney Island root beer, a $10 Chili’s gift card, and cash.

The woman called police after Richards left. He was stopped and arrested in the area of 9th and Park streets.

He was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
