The Saline County Sheriff’s Office believes alcohol and speed were possible factors in a fatal crash early Saturday in southeast Saline County that killed a 30-year-old man.
Investigator Jeremiah Hayes said deputies were called the the 8600 block of E. K-4 Highway southeast of Gypsum to the report of an accident at about 6:05 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived, they found John Breen had been ejected from the Ford F-250 he had been driving eastbound on K-4. It appeared the truck rolled two to three times before coming to rest in a field.
Hayes said several beer cans were found in the vehicle and around the crash site and speed was a possible factor. An autopsy was also ordered.
Breen was pronounced dead at the scene.
