Salina Central has hired a former Kansas Wesleyan coach to take over as the school’s new girls basketball coach.

Pending school board approval, former Kansas Wesleyan Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Fear will replace Geoff Andrews, who stepped down after the 2015-16 season.

Fear coached the Coyotes the last five seasons, going 29-115. He resigned after the 2015-16 season, in which Wesleyan was 7-22 overall and just 5-15 in KCAC conference play.

Andrews stepped down at Central after coaching the Lady Mustangs to an overall record of 112-47 in seven seasons. Central was 19-6 overall and 8-4 in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I play this past season. They finished fourth in the Class 5A State Tournament.
