The City contractors will continue the annual Asphalt Mill and Inlay project on various streets in the City of Salina. The schedule for May 21 through May 27, weather permitting, is as follows:

Saturday, May 21, Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25
Cloud Street – Highland Avenue to Quincy Street

Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24
Claflin Avenue – 9th Street to 4th Street

Monday, May 23 – Thursday, May 26
Maple Avenue – Yale Avenue to Hageman Avenue
Yale Avenue – Hageman Avenue to Maple Street

Portions of the above work that are not completed on their assigned days due to weather delays will be completed on Friday, May 27.

The contractor will begin setting traffic control at 7 a.m. Residences and businesses will be notified prior to changes in access to properties. Onstreet parking in work zones will be prohibited. Any vehicles, or equipment, left on the street on the day paving is scheduled may be towed at the owners expense.

This project is a major component of the 2016 Street Maintenance Program. The project consists of milling the existing asphalt street surface 1.5” deep and then resurfacing it with new asphalt to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after resurfacing is complete.
