UPDATE: Southeast of Saline gave up a 2 run home run in the first inning of the semi-final game to Oskaloosa and the Lady Bears never looked back. SES was unable to manufacture runs and took the loss by a score of 10-1. The loss landed Southeast of Salina with a record of 23-2 on the season and 3rd place in the state. Riverton was the eventual champion of the 3A bracket after they beat Oskaloosa 2-0 in 11 innings.

The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans dodged a bullet in the first inning of their opening game of the 3A State Softball Tournament this morning. Hays-TMP had already scored 1 run and loaded the bases with just one out. But the SES defense would get out of the inning and never look back, winning 8-1.

Kendall Schlesener pitched a complete game for SES giving up just 5 hits with 2 walks and 6 strike-outs.
Mikaela Hoffart went 3 for 4, Karis Callahan scored 3 runs and stole 3 bases. Destiny Nickelson had 3 RBI’s on a single and a double.

Southeast of Saline is waiting for the winner of Oskaloosa and Lyons, that game is being played now.

Once again storms moved through the area on Thursday forcing the Kansas State High School Activities Association to juggle and revise schedules. 3A State Softball at Twin Oaks in Manhattan never started.

Today the #1 Seed Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans will play at 10:00 AM vs Hay-TMP Marian.

If SES wins, they will advance to play the winner of Oskaloosa and Lyons at 1:00 pm. REVISED BRACKET
